Qiantang New District is striving to build stronger ties between local schools and renowned universities across the globe, which was demonstrated recently on May 28, when Professor Ian Thompson of Oxford in the United Kingdom delivered an online lecture entitled Waste Water Treatment and Management with his Chinese counterparts from Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power.

Aside from Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, University College London, and London School of Economics and Political Science also cooperated with local schools, working with them to cultivate talent and develop new programs.

According to the district's plan, it will collaborate with local colleges and universities to build educational platforms, cultivate professionals, share resources, create an innovative climate, and pursue industrial growth.

The district is also working on the integration of industry and education in the region and aims to become a domestic leader in this regard.

Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, University of Oxford-St Antony's College, and the Imperial Institute of Advanced Technology signed an agreement that same day concerning student-teacher exchange and doctoral and post-doctoral cultivation.
