Authorities in Zhejiang province recently revealed a list of 17 cultural ecological preservation zones, including the Grand Canal preservation zone in Hangzhou and Xuedou Mountain preservation zone in Ningbo.

These areas are known not only for their landscapes, but also their traditional cultures. The establishment of the preservation zones is aimed at protecting the areas' environment, while also maintaining the local cultural heritage.
