Hangzhou publicity bureau and Hangzhou Culture Radio & Television Group| Updated: September 30, 2020 L M S

In ancient times, Hangzhou had city gates named Qingchun, Wulin, Yongjin, Qingbo and Qiantang. Qiantang Gate was the one standing in the westernmost wall of the city. At that time, West Lake, Hangzhou's landmark scenic location, was just outside Qiantang Gate.

In 2008, the site of the ancient gate was finally unveiled, making it the only one to have been excavated in Hangzhou so far.

In today's show, let's see the story of discovering and excavating the ancient gate.

Starting on June 17, a brand new bilingual program entitled Hangzhou Eye will offer the world new insights into Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province.
