The 14th Hangzhou Cultural & Creative Industry Expo opened at the Whitehorse Lake International Exhibition Center in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 29, local media reported.

The event, which will run until Nov 1, is the largest of its kind in the cultural and creative industry in China and features six exhibition areas with a total area of 70,000 square meters.

Over 1,700 cultural enterprises from 27 countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Switzerland attended the gala. Local Hangzhou organizations such as the Xiling Seal Art Society, Liangzhu Culture Museum, Zhejiang University, and China Academy of Art also showcased their creative cultural products.

The event offers visitors the opportunity to experience a day in the life of local Hangzhou residents – taking them on a tour of West Lake on a pseudo-classical boat, brewing a cup of tea at the China National Tea Museum, and buying creative cultural products featuring cultural elements of Jiangnan, referring to regions south of the Yangtze River.

An online expo was launched simultaneously for overseas exhibitors who cannot attend in person due to COVID-19. It has attracted 3,100 companies and individuals from 41 countries and regions.

Some 20 high-end forums highlighting China's cultural and creative industry were held on the sidelines. Big names such as Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu and TikTok were on the list.
