In 2018, designer Zhang Lei returned from Milan, Italy to Qingshan, a picturesque village hidden in Yuhang district, Hangzhou, to pursue his dream of producing traditional Chinese handicrafts.

The Rong Design Library, China's first traditional handicraft materials library, was one of Zhang's achievements. He has transformed the space from an old village auditorium built in the 1970s.

A group of young people were attracted by Zhang's ideas and joined him to rebuild the village together.

Starting on June 17, a brand new bilingual program entitled Hangzhou Eye will offer the world new insights into Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province.
