Hangzhou's political advisors commence annual meeting

The fifth session of the 11th Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced on Feb 1 at the Zhejiang Great Hall of the People, local media outlets reported.

The four-day session, which runs from Feb 1 to 4, is being attended by 473 members. They are set to review the annual work report and the report on proposals presented by the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC Hangzhou Municipal Committee.

The CPPCC Hangzhou Municipal Committee has received 571 proposals and officially recorded 520 proposals in 2020. Thirty-six proposals were of key importance and were taken charge of by the Hangzhou Party and government officials.

Urban construction, urban management, tourism, and traffic were important topics, with the number of such proposals reaching 168 and accounting for 32.31 percent of the total.

A total of 48 proposals were honored Excellent Proposals of 2020, which included the one making suggestions on Hangzhou's Future City practice and the other taking into account Hangzhou's industrial layout and development amid the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy.
