The sixth session of the 13th Hangzhou Municipal People's Congress commenced at the Zhejiang Great Hall of the People on Feb 3, local media outlets reported.

Lawmakers from all walks of life listened to the government work report delivered by the city mayor, which included major government work in 2020, achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), as well as goals set for 2021, the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), and the 2035 Vision.

The government work report detailed priorities to be completed in 2021, which covered 10 major aspects like epidemic prevention and control, digital reform, reform and opening-up, smart city development, rural vitalization, historic and cultural city construction, public security, water city development, improvement in living standards, as well as urban governance modernization.

The session will run until Feb 5, during which deputies to the congress are set to review the synopsis for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) and the long-term development goals for 2035, the report on the implementation of economic and social achievements in 2020, as well as the draft for economic and social goals in 2021.
