A month-long online job fair to lure top-quality staff, being staged by a major city in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, kicked off on Feb 18, local media outlets reported.
Organized by the Hangzhou municipal bureau of human resources and social security, the job fair has attracted roughly 5,000 leading companies, universities and research institutes to offer some 80,000 jobs, 600 of which have targeted postdoctoral students.
The offers come from key job market players including Potevio, NetEase, HikVision, Geely, Wahaha, Zhejiang University, the China Academy of Art, and the Zhejiang Lab. They cover such fields as the digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, financial services, human resources, healthcare and education.
"We are in need of several hundred high-end talent in areas including e-commerce, information technology, and competence management," said the director of the human resources department of Wahaha Group, China's leading beverage manufacturer.
"We can roll out clear career planning for our employees and offer primary welfare like free accommodation," the HR chief added.
Hangzhou-based Westlake University also showed its appreciation for top people from the YRD region by offering 400 jobs, nearly a half of which are for postdoctoral graduates.
Hangzhou launched an online job market for people from the YRD region in June 2020. To date, it has helped host 932 online job fairs, offer 845,000 jobs in 26 YRD cities, and bring in 227,000 new personnel for local companies.
