Xiaoshan district in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, recently added four new laboratories recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment.

There are now 53 CNAS-recognized laboratories in Xiaoshan.

A CNAS-recognized laboratory possesses the ability to carry out conformity assessment activities and issue certificates and reports. Its certificates and reports are also deemed theoretically credible.

Authorities from the Xiaoshan market supervision bureau said that the bureau has helped companies apply for the CNAS recognition in recent years.

The local government in Xiaoshan will offer a cash reward of 100,000 yuan ($15,450) to each laboratory that is recognized by the CNAS.
