The Pingyao Old Street is located in the northern suburbs of Hangzhou. It has a history of over 1,000 years and features the typical layout of a traditional Jiangnan town, with water running under bridges.
These bridges are of different shapes and have interesting names and historical legends. The zigzag lanes run through the town, connecting eighteen ancient wells and kilns. Now, in the south suburban area of Pingyao are still well preserved ancient relics like inscriptions on the precipices.

The over 13,000-square-meter intangible culture exhibition hall displays oil umbrella making, jade carving, kite making, ceramics making, and other techniques that prevailed in ancient times. The sericulture museum on the old street embodies local sericulture history that dates back over 5,000 years.
