Editor's Note: The Hangzhou culture, radio, film and tourism bureau has unveiled a list of 50 experience centers that best bring out the essence of the 19th Asian Games as well as the unique charm of Hangzhou. The centers focus on history and culture, digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, intangible cultural heritage, sports and health.

Hangzhou Public Library

Founded in 1958, Hangzhou Public Library covers an area of 43,860 square meters.

The library is a vice-provincial level public library, a member library of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions and the first management-level member library of the Online Computer Library Center Inc.

Featuring a people-oriented and eco-friendly design, the library is regarded as a model among new public library buildings in China. In 2010, the library was named the National Key Protection Unit for Ancient Books in China by the State Council.
