A newly-upgraded running track running through prosperous urban landscapes and along the Qiantang river in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou recently reopened to the public, local media outlets reported.
Unlike traditional tracks that are usually brick red in color, the newly-upgraded one features a dominant hue of blue and grey and has a winding yellow line running along it, resembling the roaring tidal bore of the Qiantang River.
With a total length of 4 kilometers and a width of 6.5 meters, the track blends in well with the Qiantang riverside scenic belt, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for local residents to walk, run or cycle.
The track also offers a shortcut to sporting venues of the 19th Asian Games, such as the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, which was nicknamed the "Big Lotus" for its appearance.
