On a sunny weekend, a tall and thin foreigner is leading people in taichi by the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
Massimo, from Italy, moved to Hangzhou in 2013 because of his love for Chinese culture, and is now a doctoral student at Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University.
He has been interested in Chinese culture since he was a child. Inspired by Chinese kungfu movies starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li, Massimo also learned some Chinese Kungfu with Chinese practitioners in Italy.
After going to college, Massimo majored in traditional Chinese medicine and seized an opportunity to study in China.
"The only problem with Chinese culture is that it is as vast as the ocean and one lifetime is not enough time to experience it all," he said.
