Zhejiang University signs partnership with Xiaomi Foundation

Zhejiang University signed a cooperation agreement with the Xiaomi Young Scholar Program initiated by the Xiaomi Foundation on Sept 4. The partnership will help with the training of young tech workers at Zhejiang University.

The Xiaomi Young Scholar Program is a common welfare project carried out by the Xiaomi Foundation and the fund foundations at various universities. The program plans to donate 500 million yuan ($71.7 million) to teachers and tech workers from 100 universities over five years.

Ma Lan, secretary-general of the Xiaomi Foundation, and Shen Liyong, secretary-general of the Zhejiang University Education Foundation, signed the agreement.

Huang Xianhai, vice-president of Zhejiang University, said he is looking forward to furthering cooperation between the two sides.

Zeng Xuezhong, vice-president of Xiaomi Group, said that the program would strengthen the training of skilled workers at Zhejiang University.
