Over the past 10 years, Chun'an has made consistent efforts to improve the water quality and landscape of Qiandao Lake. A special task force has been founded to supervise and inspect the preservation of ecological environment in the water area.

With these efforts, Chun'an received the China Environment Award, the highest-level award in the field of ecological preservation in the nation this year.

Over the past decade, Chun'an has been improving its transportation network. An array of transportation projects including the Hangzhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway and the Chun'an section of the Qiandao Lake-Huangshan Highway have been conducted.

The county has been working on turning its natural advantages in resources to economic dividends by developing local tourism sector and promoting geological indication products.
