Lin'an sees tremendous changes over last decade

The GDP of Lin'an district in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has grown at average annual growth rate of 7.6 percent to 65.84 billion yuan ($9.25 billion) in 2021 from 35.94 billion yuan in 2012, according to a report made by a top official of the district at a recent briefing on the district's achievements made over the last decade.

Over the past 10 years, the fiscal revenue of the district has increased to 14.89 billion yuan from 4.42 billion yuan.

The affordable income of residents in urban and rural areas of the district increased from 30,903 yuan to 65,377 yuan, and 30,903 yuan to 39,506 yuan, respectively.

The Metro Line 16 and the district's first city expressway started operations, as well as a number of other transportation projects are to be constructed.

With the district's continuous efforts to enlarge itself, the urban areas have expanded from 56.68 square kilometers from 22.88 square kilometers a decade ago.

The number of firms that above a designated size or with their annual revenue exceeding 20 million yuan in the district now reaches more than 700, and the total output of these firms has increased from 121.8 billion yuan from 61.9 billion yuan a decade ago.

Lin'an is now home to five universities and colleges, and 36 research institutes, which served as a booster of industries of integrated circuit, intelligent equipment, advanced precise instrument, new materials and biological medicine.

Lin'an's forest coverage rate has now reached 81.97 percent.
