The Hangzhou Lunar Calendar Museum, located at Xikou village, Baizhang town, Yuhang district, is the first lunar calendar-themed rural museum in China. The museum is open to the public for free.

With an area of more than 2,200 square meters, the museum displays various collections of professor Zhang Fang, the curator of the museum who has been collecting works for more than 20 years.

The museum focuses on multiple themes related to the lunar calendar through a modern, interactive and immersive panoramic interpretation, which will showcase the calendar system, solar terms, phenology, auspicious festivals, traditional aesthetics, agricultural poetry, and cultural creation experiences.

The Lunar Calendar Museum was co-built by the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History and a cultural research base affiliated with the agricultural technology center of Zhejiang University.

Hangzhou has accelerated the construction of rural museums as part of its rural vitalization efforts. As of September, the city was home to 42 provincial museums located in villages and residential communities, and 50 city-level museums, among which three are in Yuhang district.
