Over 2,500 people from all walks of life, especially those with disabilities, their friends and families, were encouraged to experience the sports trials illustrating the spirit of inclusiveness.

Kevin Yeung, secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hong Kong, addressed the event and said that the Hong Kong government has been striving to encourage the public to live a healthy lifestyle with frequent exercise.

He hopes that the pilot program for employment and education of Paralympic athletes, which is still in its infancy, can help athletes concentrate on training and pursue their athletic dreams without distractions.

Yeung added that the government has allocated a budget of over 100 million Hong Kong dollars ($12.74 million) for developing sports from 2022 to 2023, almost doubling the budget in 2017.
