A passenger plane echoing the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 was displayed at the 14th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province, on Nov 8, local media outlets reported.

The plane – an Airbus A321-NEO – was operated by Hangzhou-based airlines Loong Air and features a slimmer body with better fuel economy and greenhouse emissions performance, which is in line with the Games' philosophy of going greener.

The plane is mainly purple in color and features the emblem of the Games, its core graphics, and the torch relay logo.

Loong Air became an official sponsor of the Hangzhou Asian Games on Oct 16, 2019. The airline has been working to improve its services to ensure everything goes to plan during the much-anticipated event.

The Hangzhou Asian Games, originally scheduled to be held from Sept 10 to 25 in 2022, was rescheduled to take place from Sept 23 to Oct 8, 2023 due to the pandemic, the Olympic Council of Asia announced in October.

Organizers of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games hope to take advantage of the extra year of preparations to hold the most impressive Asiad event to date.
