A futuristic-looking parking structure located across the street from Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital in Shangcheng district, Hangzhou recently began trial operations, local media outlets reported.
The complex, with a total construction area of 24,955 square meters, has four floors underground and two floors above ground. It is a conglomeration of unmanned parking lots, a ground plaza, public recreational space, and a rooftop garden.
A total of 500 parking spots are available at the building, of which 420 are managed by robots, or automated guided vehicles, on each floor to help park cars.
The building is expected to make parking in the city easier. Moreover, downtown Shangcheng district has opened 12,251 new parking spots around the Provincial Women's Hospital, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Taohua Lake Park, and other places over the past year.
