The music video Xiaoshan is Waiting for You. [Video/WeChat account: xiaoshanwenlian]

A theme song presented by Xiaoshan district in Hangzhou for the 19th Asian Games recently went viral online, local media outlets reported.

Created by musicians from the district, the song and its music video attempted to showcase a dynamic and charming Xiaoshan, featuring many historical and modern landmarks such as Xianghu Lake, the Qiantang River, the Ruins of Kuahu Bridge, Hangzhou South Railway Station, Robot Town, and Asian Games sporting venues.

"The song is an integration of sportsmanship and city spirit. Sportsmanship means striving, enterprising, and unity, whiles city spirit means confidence and conveys the excitement among Xiaoshan residents for the Asian Games," said Li Xianyu, who has been living in Xiaoshan for over 20 years.

Xiaoshan is home to a number of sporting venues which are expected to host a variety of competitions for the Hangzhou Asian Games, a much-anticipated international sporting event that was postponed and is now set to take place in the city from Sept 23 to Oct 8 this year.
