The Shanghai Ranking, an evaluation institute that specializes in higher education, released the 2022 Best Chinese Subjects Ranking on Sept 21, 2022.

The ranking for the best subjects in China includes five index categories: talent training, scientific research projects, achievement awards, academic papers and academic talents.

The ranking includes 96 first-level subjects such as philosophy, economics and law in 484 universities throughout China.

It is found that, geologically, Beijing has a prominent advantage in the number of top subjects set in universities.

Zhejiang province in East China ranked seventh on the list.
