Chinese celebrate Hangzhou Asian Games in Qatar

With just 219 days until the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, Chinese people living in Qatar expressed their anticipation for the international sporting gala on Feb 16, local media outlets reported.

Nearly 20 Chinese children from an art troupe in Qatar learned to sing The Most Beautiful Scenery, one of the theme songs of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Wang Xinhe, 12, is a native of Weihai in Hangzhou's neighboring province of Shandong. Due to the nature of her parents' work, she has traveled to many countries and has lived in Doha for four years. after learning the song, she said she had fallen in love with the Games' mascots Congcong, Chenchen and Lianlian.

"All three mascots are an embodiment of Hangzhou's traditions, showcasing the rich culture of my motherland," Wang said.

People working in other Qatari cities also came to wish the games success.

Guo Qiang, a business manager of China Railway No 4 Engineering Group, usually works in Dubai. He drove six and a half hours to Doha to participate in the Fun Run event and also visited the local Education City Stadium, one of the World Cup venues, to record a video of for the Asian Games together with other overseas Chinese in Doha.
