The Hangzhou government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with auto giant Geely on Feb 16, local media outlets reported.
According to the agreement, Hangzhou will support Geely in building a global strategic center in the city and speed up the construction of an energy headquarters, a commercial vehicle group headquarters, and a technology group headquarters.
Hangzhou will also support Geely in expanding its industrial layout in terms of industrial funds, research and development, talent management, land use, and practical applications.
The auto giant will mainly focus on layouts in Binjiang and Qiantang districts while also opening branch offices in Yuhang, Xiaoshan, Fuyang and Tonglu. It will also strengthen the investment, sales, management, R&D and operation of the group headquarters, taking full advantage of the "headquarters economy".
According to Geely's plan, the first production line will be installed in June and trial production will begin in October.
Zeekr 009, an MPV from Geely's premium electric Zeekr brand, has been chosen as the official vehicle of the 19th Asian Games. The electric MPV will serve as the shuttle vehicle for members of the International Olympic Committee, Olympic Council of Asia and renowned athletes at the Hangzhou Asian Games, said the carmaker.
