Some 166 players in 14 teams from 12 districts in Hangzhou participated in a Tai Chi softball competition on March 29 to welcome the approach of the 200-day countdown to the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games.

The event aimed to encourage more people with disabilities to participate in sports and become more fit.

Tai Chi softball combines professionalism, fun and competition, and helps improve the coordination ability of disabled athletes at different levels, while also further inspiring their positive and enterprising spirit.

A woman surnamed Xu from Binjiang district said that she had been involved in the sport for several years, and that she usually rehearses with other players from nearby communities. However, due to the epidemic, there have been no competitions over the last few years, making the latest competition all the more exciting.

The Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2022 is an important international event that highlights the abilities and talents of disabled athletes. The event will not only serve as a platform for showcasing sportsmanship but also promote inclusivity and equality for everyone.
