Per capita sports consumption in East China's Zhejiang province reached 2,834.82 yuan ($410.9) last year, according to the report released by the Sports Bureau of Zhejiang province.

This year's national fitness survey focused on the time, frequency, intensity and methods of physical exercise among people, places of physical exercise, and level of sports consumption.

The subjects of the survey are people aged 20 or over (excluding students) in the province. Forty-eight counties, county-level cities, and districts were selected in the province to carry out the survey. A total of 34,236 samples were obtained in the province.

According to the report, the proportion of people in the province who regularly take part in physical exercise reached 31.04 percent in 2022, an increase of 1.46 percentage points over 2021.

The report also showed that fitness walking was the most popular form of exercise among residents in the province. About 51.59 percent of all residents took part in fitness walks, far more than running and square dancing.
