The 2023 Hangzhou-Belt & Road Business Matching Seminar was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province from May 11 to 12.

The event attracted diplomatists, commercial officers, and representatives of business organizations from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and private enterprises from Hangzhou looking to carry out in-depth discussions.

Promotional speeches were also made by representatives from Venezuela, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ecuador, and India, as well as local representatives from Hofusan Industrial Park – the first Chinese industrial park in North America, and Longjiang Industrial Park in Vietnam.

The seminar, which was initiated in 2015, has become a major diplomacy event for the city. It has attracted more than 250 foreign friends from about 100 countries and over 700 local private entrepreneurs to participate, forging both trade and interpersonal connections between Hangzhou enterprises and Road and Belt countries.

Since the Belt and Road Initiative was launched 10 years ago, it has become a platform for the construction of a community with a shared future. Hangzhou, a major trade hub along the ancient Silk Road and modern Digital Silk Road, is committed to promoting resource-sharing and deepening cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

Participants of the event also toured the planning library of Hangzhou Tuture Sci-tech City and the headquarters of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group.
