The 2023 International Shooting Sport Federation World Championship and second round of the national flying disc shooting team qualifier were held at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center on June 3.

A total of 79 elite athletes converged to compete in the event, which is divided into four categories: men's and women's individual and men's and women's doubles. The top performers will represent China in both the forthcoming World Championship and the Asian Games.

Demonstrating his exceptional skills on the opening day, male doubles player Yuan Shuaijun awed spectators by amassing an impressive tally of 48 points.

"Target by target, I shall proceed steadily and meticulously," said Yuan. Yuan has been a member of the national team for several years, having recently showcased his skills in the esteemed World Cup tournaments held in Cyprus and Egypt.

This event marked Yuan's second visit to the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center, where he marveled at the picturesque setting enveloping the Asian Games venue.

Nestled amidst scenic verdant hills, the tranquil backdrop provides an ideal setting for athletes to unleash their full potential. Comparing his experience to his previous visit, Yuan acknowledged the remarkable improvements in security measures and the level of professionalism demonstrated by the dedicated volunteers.
