A delegation from Fukui, a partner city of Hangzhou in Japan, visited the municipal foreign affairs office on June 5.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions on enhancing relations between Hangzhou and Fukui and promoting exchanges and cooperation across various sectors.

Jin Heng, director of the foreign affairs office, took the opportunity to review the extensive exchanges between the two cities in recent years, particularly highlighting the stories of mutual assistance and solidarity during the pandemic.

Hangzhou and Fukui became sister cities in 1989, making this year the 35th anniversary of their friendship.

As 2023 is the year of the Hangzhou Asian Games, both parties expressed their commitment to taking advantage of the Games to promote sporting events and youth exchanges between the two cities.
