An exhibition entitled "Art from Austria: The Present and the Dawn of Modernity - Gustav Klimt and Karin Pliem" opened at the Gallery Street of Winland Center in Hangzhou on June 10, local media outlets reported.

The exhibition's two featured artists, Gustav Klimt and Karin Pliem, were born a century apart. Despite hundred years of change, their artistic thoughts and expressions still share many similarities. Nature, as a driving force, runs through the works of both artists.

They not only explored the external representation of nature but also delved into and discovered principles that hold significant meaning for all life and development. Their works incorporate contemporary and historical cultural heritage and worldviews, transcending the boundaries of Austria and Central Europe and extending to the Far East .

Both artists have developed unique painting languages, with their styles flowing between reality, abstraction, and imagination.

The exhibition aims to provide visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the artistic achievements of Gustav Klimt and Karin Pliem and explore the connection between nature and culture and the evolution of artistic expression over time.

The exhibition will run until Aug 31, allowing people to experience the captivating world of Austrian art and learn about the artistic journey from past to present.
