Thursday marks 100 days until the start of the 19th Asian Games. The two-week sporting event gets underway on September 23 in the city of Hangzhou, after being postponed last year due to the COVID pandemic. Fifty-six venues are ready for the official competition to begin. The venues are spread across six zones in the cities of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jinhua, Shaoxing, and Huzhou. Forty-five countries and regions in Asia have registered to take part. According to China's General Sports Administration, more than 900 athletes will represent the country at this year's games. Officials say the final event preparations are underway.

ZHOU JINQIANG Deputy Chair, Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee "The Asian Games Organizing Committee has established a game-time command and dispatch system based on 56 competition venue teams, supported by 17 special teams, and guaranteed by city operations. It is to ensure that the game command and dispatch, and emergency support capabilities, meet requirements. So far, 42 test games have been held, and 13 test games will be held in the next stage to conduct a full stress test of the organization and operation of the event, as well as the operation of software and hardware, to make sure we are fully prepared."
