'Golden Monkey Awards' recognize 34 winners

The award ceremony for the "Golden Monkey Awards" competition was held in Hangzhou on June 20. Works such as I Am What I Am, Deep Sea, Yao - Chinese Folktales, and Rubi's Growth Record were among the 34 award-winning entries.

The "Golden Monkey Awards" competition of the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival is organized by China Media Group and is an internationally-renowned event supported by the government, industry, and academia. It aims to select and support outstanding original animated works and is regarded as the highest honor in Chinese animation.

This year’s "Golden Monkey Awards" included three main categories: "Comprehensive Awards," "Potential Awards," and "Red Animation Awards."

Since the call for submissions began on May 23, a total of 620 original animated works from 15 countries and regions including France, Switzerland, Hungary, Belgium, Japan, and Canada have been received. Among them, 73 outstanding original animated works made it to the final evaluation.

At a matchmaking meeting held on June 19, 39 companies took part in discussions involving scriptwriting, capital financing, sideline product planning, stage performances, dubbing, sound effects, and game production. Renowned platforms and enterprises such as iQiyi, Tencent, Kuaishou, KuaiKan Comics, and China Literature Group were among the participants. A total of 12 projects have already established cooperative directions and signed letters of intent for collaboration.
