The 29th leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run was held in Dili, capital of Timor-Leste, on July 1, local media outlets reported.

The event attracted an impressive turnout of over 1,000 participants, including students from 12 schools and representatives from 11 sports federations.

Many notable figures attended the fun run, adding a touch of prestige to the occasion. Among the luminaries was Aguida Amaral, a celebrated Timor-Leste Olympian and accomplished marathon runner, while another prominent participant was Victor Ramos, a skilled boxer who competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

A total of 200 medals were awarded to exceptional participants across various categories. In a bid to further engage the attendees and enrich their experience, the Timor-Leste National Olympic Committee organized a quiz competition alongside the fun run.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, talented youngsters from the Sao Minguel Arcanjo High School band delighted participants with their enchanting melodies, providing the perfect musical backdrop for the festivities.

Representing a diverse range of athletic pursuits, the 11 sports federations that took part in the event included karate, taekwondo, boxing, badminton, esports, hockey, volleyball, athletics, swimming, shooting, and weightlifting. Their collective presence showcased the wide array of athletic talent and passion that exists within the region.
