Deputies from Asia's 45 national and regional Paralympic committees have concluded their delegation meeting in Hangzhou, where they were brought up to speed with the policies and procedures for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Para Games.

The five-day meeting, an important part of the preparations for the Asian Para Games, focused on publicizing the Games' policies, including registration, competition sign-up, and accommodation. It also provided delegations with onsite visits to the competition venues, according to the Hangzhou Asian Para Games Organizing Committee.

Scheduled to take place from Oct 22 to 28 in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, the 4th Asian Para Games will involve 4,000 athletes across 22 sports and 24 disciplines. The motto of the Asian Para Games is "Hearts Meet, Dreams Shine."

Deputies from 32 national and regional Paralympic committees attended the meeting in person, while deputies from the remaining 13 committees joined the discussions online.

During their time in Hangzhou, the deputies had the opportunity to visit the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center and Para Games Village, gaining a better understanding of the venues and facilities. They also had the chance to explore the iconic West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage site, immersing themselves in the cultural richness of the dynamic city.

The Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, one of three sports stadiums in China with a capacity of over 80,000 people, will host the opening and closing ceremonies of both the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Asian Para Games, as well as the athletics competitions.

The valuable feedback gathered from the deputies will help the organizing committee better cater to the needs of the athletes, improve competition services, and streamline logistics operations.

Hangzhou remains dedicated to delivering a remarkable barrier-free sporting event and contributing to the athletic development and empowerment of people with disabilities throughout Asia.

As the second Chinese city to host the Asian Para Games, following Guangzhou's hosting of the first Games in 2010, Hangzhou eagerly awaits the event as a celebration of para-athletes from across the continent.
