A series of celebrations to mark the upcoming 17th National Special Olympics Day and 100-day countdown to the Hangzhou Asian Para games was held at the Goalball Training Center in Tangqi ancient town, Linping district, on July 12.

The event emphasized the theme of joy, aiming to unleash the inherent happiness within each individual through lighthearted and humorous professional performances. It took the form of a fair, offering a journey of self-discovery and exploration.

Special Olympics athletes enthusiastically participated in six sports, including floor curling, which were not only safe for athletes but also highly entertaining. They were assisted and encouraged by parents and volunteers.

One parent said that this year's Special Olympics event was highly entertaining. The interactive performers and the variety of sports not engaged the children but also helped them with rehabilitation and enhanced their abilities.

The annual Special Olympics Day activities have enriched the spiritual lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent and helping them integrate into society. It makes them feel like they are loved and cared for.
