Young people from Hangzhou and Taiwan shared their street dancing skills at the Canal Sports Park Gymnasium, the official venue for breaking events of the Hangzhou Asian Games, on July 17, local media outlets reported.
Breaking, an important branch of street dance, has gained popularity among young people. In 2020, the International Olympic Committee approved the inclusion of breaking in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The same year, it was introduced as a new sport in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The venue buzzed with energetic music as dancers from Hangzhou and Taiwan unleashed their passion and showcased extraordinary skills.
After the competition, they expressed their willingness to act as a bridge for cross-Strait exchanges, interactions, and integration. They said they were eager to promote further interactions between the two sides and contribute their energy to the success of the Asian Games.
