An Asian oil painters invitational exhibition opened at the Hangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (Hangzhou Oil Painting Academy) Gallery on Aug 5 and is set to run until Aug 25.

Organized by the Zhejiang International Art Exchange Association and the Hangzhou Artists Association, the event has brought together artists from both China and abroad to showcase their talents.

The exhibition features over 60 works by oil painters from countries and regions including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. The artworks consist of landscapes, portraits, and still life, among other subjects.

Tao Wenjie, a local official, said that oil painting originated in Europe and is characterized by its realistic style and the use of focal perspective to depict the intrinsic beauty of subjects.

"The show not only presents the new artistic expressions of China and Asia but also serves as a testament to the shared aspirations of artists from different countries," Tang said.
