Intel was announced as the official graphics processing unit supplier for the Hangzhou Asian Games on Aug 15.

During the ceremony held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, the Intel Arc was announced as the official graphics processing unit for the games.

Ye Hong, deputy director of the marketing department of the games' organizing committee, and Paul Lu, general manager of the marketing department of Intel China, attended the ceremony.

Driven by technological innovation, the esports industry has blended gaming with competitive sports. Just as esports events are included in the Asian Games, its influence has also expanded to more fields, including culture, tourism, and technology.

"Intel has been a promoter of the booming Chinese esports industry for more than two decades," Lu said. "As an official partner of multiple international sports events, we are honored to be the official supplier for the games, and to witness esports making its debut as an official competition."

Intel has collaborated with the game "Valorant" to launch limited-edition customized Asian Games cards. Both are produced by Intel's ODM partner, Gunnir.

The company is also partnering with Migu Video to enable millions of Chinese spectators to have a better viewing experience. They can watch the games on a large screen with multiple windows running simultaneously.
