Steeped in history, Linping has thrived for centuries, and its name finds its place in the annals of history dating back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). The Shangtang Canal, the first manmade waterway in Hangzhou, meandered through the district, serving as a vital passage and the largest port for river traffic heading eastward from Hangzhou.

Nestled in the heart of the Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou Plain, Linping boasts a rich heritage as both a water town and a hub of commerce. Blessed with natural wonders like Linping Mountain and Dingshan Lake Wetland, it's no wonder it has inspired countless stories.

Linping's urban landscape has evolved with time. A slew of public amenities, including the grand theater and venues for the Asian Games, have enriched the region. The emergence of chic fashion complexes like the Bailian Outlet Mall, alongside the creation of top-notch leisure spots like the Hangzhou Running Center and Donghu Park, has transformed Linping into a modern, trendy district that marries its ancient charm with contemporary allure.

Furthermore, Linping boasts a wealth of medical and educational resources. The district is home to nearly 200 kindergartens and basic education institutions, as well as an array of high-quality healthcare facilities, including over 100 branches of the Second Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Additionally, there are more than 240 home-based elderly care service providers serving the community, making Linping a well-rounded and vibrant urban center.
