Arrival and departure services for the Hangzhou Asian Para Games were initiated at the Hangzhou International Airport in Xiaoshan district on Oct 14, local media outlets reported.

The airport, serving as the official entry and exit site for the event, saw the arrival of over 80 event-related personnel from more than 10 countries and regions that day, including the Philippines, India, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The arrival and departure services will continue until Oct 30 and are expected to facilitate the movement of over 9,300 disabled athletes and event-related personnel while ensuring the operation of more than 900 flights.

The airport has created a fully-accessible travel environment. T4 terminal features a 2,500-meter-long accessible tactile path, a 1,200-meter accessible ramp, and 258 accessible elevators, spanning across facilities like parking spaces, tactile paths, wheelchair ramps, low-service counters, wheelchair lanes, and signage.

Furthermore, the arrival and departure services include private and accommodating inspection areas for special passengers. The spaces include four temporary, non-public inspection rooms and two prosthetic maintenance rooms within the security check area. The rooms are equipped with seating, walkers, examination beds, and dustproof prosthetic bags. They have also launched a reservation service, enabling disabled travelers to pre-book the facilities by calling the hotline at 0571-96299-0.
