Nearly 50 members of the Asian Paralympic Committee family from countries and regions such as India, Iran, Maldives, and Malaysia set out to see Hangzhou's canal on Oct 26, marking the last leg of their Hangzhou Asian Para Games journey.

The group set sail on a shuttle boat, which took them to their final destination, Gongchen Bridge. The picturesque scenery along the canal and the modern urban landscapes along the banks captivated everyone.

After arriving at Gongchen Bridge, the guests visited the recently-upgraded China Grand Canal Museum, navigating a barrier-free exhibition route and exploring many exhibitions related to the Grand Canal.

A guest from Iran commented that "the vibrant scenes of the night market along the canal are beautiful; it reminds me of a bridge in my hometown."

The group also visited the historical and cultural sites on the west side of the bridge, including Xiaofeng Bookstore, Folk Art Museum, Fanghuichun Hall, Qiaonong Street, and the Handicraft Workshop.

At the Handicraft Workshop, the guests had a chance to make Dingsheng cakes, experiencing the entire process from mixing, kneading the dough, sifting and molding to steaming.

"The Grand Canal is a precious world cultural heritage, and I've learned about the amazing Chinese rice cakes. Today, to have this hands-on experience is truly fantastic," said Aishath Nazhath, chairperson of the Maldives Paralympic Committee.
