Fijian high chief delegation explores opportunities in Zhejiang

A delegation led by Ifereimi Vasu, Fijian minister of iTaukei affairs, visited Zhejiang from Dec 4 to 7, embarking on a journey to deepen ties and explore opportunities for cooperation.

On Dec 5, the delegation visited Dahua Technology, gaining insight into the company's exploration of smart internet of things technologies with intelligent video at its core, as well as its achievements in smart cities, urban governance, intelligent communities, smart transportation, and digitalized education.

Vasu expressed admiration for Dahua's technological innovation and achievements and highlighted Fiji's commitment to innovation and technological development, finding inspiration in Dahua's endeavors.

On Dec 6, the delegation visited Xiaogu village in Hangzhou's Yuhang district, witnessing for themselves the vitalization of rural areas.

As they strolled through the village, the delegation marveled at the well-designed villas, neat and spacious asphalt roads, unique landscaping, and expansive tea plantations.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with villagers about local economic development and social services. The Fijian representatives expressed their desire to learn from the experiences of the village and actively contribute to the further development of Fiji-China relations.

While in Zhejiang, the delegation also visited Alibaba Group and toured Everbright Environmental Energy (Hangzhou) Co, experiencing firsthand the initiation, growth, and magnitude of the digital economy, represented by e-commerce platforms, in Zhejiang – a province that has played a pioneering role in influencing digital economic trends both domestically and internationally.
