Savory aromas fill Hangzhou streets, welcoming festive season
Fishermen busy cure and sun-dry black carp in a cooperative in Yuhang district, Hangzhou on Dec 13. The sunlit drying area emitted a rich and salty fragrance. It's worth noting that Sanbai Pond is the largest freshwater lake in Yuhang and the local tradition of curing and sun-drying fish has been passed down for centuries. Each winter, after catching black carp weighing over 5 kilograms, locals engage in the meticulous process of slaughtering, curing, cleaning, sun-drying, and packaging.
