As spring arrives, Hangzhou is abuzz with anticipation for the blooming of its renowned magnolia trees. Among them, the most popular is undoubtedly the ancient magnolia tree at Faxi Temple, believed to be over 500 years old, making it the oldest of its kind in the city.

Now, not only are crowds gathering around the tree with cameras and phones in hand, but some residents have even brought ladders to get a closer look.

The tree stands over 12 meters tall with an average crown width of 7.5 m and a trunk width of nearly 1 m. The sturdy trunk covered in moss supports a broad canopy resembling a giant umbrella, enveloping the entire courtyard.

The next few days will be the best time to admire the tree, which is currently in full bloom. The pristine white petals complemented by strings of red lanterns create a picturesque scene that is not to be missed.
