Cainiao, in collaboration with AliExpress, upgraded its Global Five-Day Delivery service on March 19, expanding to major markets including Germany, France, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Mexico.

Thanks to the service, UK bride Tracy was able to receive her embroidered wedding dress from East China's Suzhou in time. Meanwhile, Dutch citizen and Chinese culture enthusiast Mila's horse-face skirt arrived at her doorstep just five days after placing the order. For Cai, sales of his smart water purifier increased by over 20 percent in the third quarter of last year, with Global Five-Day Delivery playing a crucial role in driving the surge.

"We aim to make Global Five-Day Delivery the go-to global express delivery service for cross-border merchants," said Ding Hongwei, vice-president of Cainiao.

Logistics efficiency is key to the growth of cross-border e-commerce platforms, and can help them overcome homogeneity issues. For consumers, logistics efficiency is one of the key factors influencing whether they will repurchase.

Cainiao, the world's largest cross-border e-commerce logistics provider, began building a global intelligent logistics network in 2017 and launched the "$5 10-day" express delivery service, reducing the industry's original delivery time of 30 to 60 days to just 10 days.

Since introducing Global Five-Day Delivery in Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK in Sept 2023, Cainiao and AliExpress have gained the trust of cross-border merchants and consumers. According to Cainiao's data, related orders are expected to achieve triple-digit growth compared to the previous month by March.

In addition to improvements in logistics efficiency, aftersales support is being strengthened as AliExpress has introduced aftersales guarantees such as refunds for late delivery as well as lost or damaged items.

Furthermore, local customer service stations will be established in Europe and Mexico. Mexico will become the sixth non-English speaking country where AliExpress has a local customer service station, with over 100 local personnel to serve Mexican consumers in the future.
