The Zhejiang Provincial Qualifying Contest for the 46th WorldSkills Competition was held at the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Technician College on July 28.

The qualifying contest is divided into eight categories, including cloud computing and computer aided design. The champion of each category will move on to the national round and will have an opportunity to join the national team.

The WorldSkills Competition is a significant platform for WorldSkills International Members to showcase and exchange vocational skills.

It involves six sectors, namely Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.

China has participated in the competition six times since becoming a member country of WorldSkills International in 2010.

The next biennial competition, dubbed the Olympic Games for skilled workers, will be held in Shanghai in 2021.
