The third phase of metro line 1 and the first phase of metro line 6 are expected to open to traffic by the end of the year, local media reported on Oct 27.

Metro line 1 will be the first route connecting the Hangzhou International Airport, Xiaoshan district where the airport is located, and the central areas of Hangzhou. It will be the most convenient way for people to travel to the Hangzhou East Railway Station, Hangzhou Railway Station, and Hangzhou Bus Station.

In the near future, the line will connect with metro line 7 and the airport express at the Hangzhou International Airport station.

Metro line 6 was designed to connect Xihu, Binjiang, and Xiaoshan districts, as well as main venues and sports village for the 2022 Asian Games. The first phase will connect with metro line 2 of the Qianjiang New Area station and will soon offer transfers to the Hangzhou-Fuyang metro line.

Metro line 7 and the Hangzhou-Shaoxing intercity railway will open to traffic in 2021, while the Xiaoshan section of the Airport Express has started construction and will be completed before the Asian Games in 2022.
