Since the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) established its capital in Hangzhou, the local silk techniques and products have been recognized as "the best in the world".

Deng Tao, a native Hangzhou resident and master of Chinese silk crafts, is the man who brought the time-honored art to the international arena.

Deng's silk products have been praised by current ambassadors to China from more than 100 countries and by artists at home and abroad. Hermès CEO once acclaimed his silk products as being of the same high quality as those of the luxury brand.

With a pure heart, Deng is dedicated to revitalizing the quintessence of Chinese silk, to improving the quality of products made in China and to creating China's own national brand.

Here's Deng Tao's story.

Starting on June 17, a brand new bilingual program entitled Hangzhou Eye will offer the world new insights into Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
