Hangzhou Zhijiang National Tourism Resort was one of the 12 national-level tourist resorts approved by the State Council in October 1992. It is located in the southwest of Hangzhou, next to Qiantang River and Wuyun Mountain, with a total area of 9.88 sq km. There are several major attractions in the resort, including Song Dynasty Town, Future World, Hangzhou West Lake International Golf and Country Club, and Jiuxi Rose Garden.
In 2016, the total fiscal revenue of the resort was 1.86 billion yuan, up 29 percent compared with the previous year.
It has received investments from outside the city of over 3.78 billion yuan and utilized foreign capital worth $190 million. Various high-quality projects worth more than 100 million yuan were introduced, including the Xiuzhengcare Group and Hangzhou Meidie Jewelry Co.
The three leading industries of tourism, culture and creative, and advanced technology are gaining strong momentum. The year 2016 saw about 2.85 million visits with the tourism revenue totaling about 3.03 billion yuan, an increase of 15.9 percent year-on-year.
