The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
In August 1922, a young man named Xu Meikong arrived in Hangzhou and was tasked with developing branches of the CPC in the city.
In September 1922, the first CPC group in Hangzhou was set up in a building located at No 3 Pishi Alley.
The old building was torn down in the 1980s for the sake of road construction. What exists now is only a marble-made monument commemorating this significant piece of history.
Ninety-nine years ago, Xu and three other CPC members dedicated themselves to the revolutionary caused and developed the Party.
